How can research results be communicated in a way that is easy to understand and arouses the interest of the widest possible audience?
This book launch will present two new publications on choral life in Switzerland since the 19th century. With their different publication formats, they stimulate discussion on how to communicate research. The edited volume “Swiss Choral Life since 1800: Music, Practice and Context” presents a traditional format, but thanks to open access, the volume is freely available on the internet. The comic book “Three Swiss choristers in the 19th century”, on the other hand, represents an innovative and increasingly popular format for science communication, which brings with it both opportunities and challenges.
In a panel discussion with Prof. Cristina Urchueguía, musicologist Caiti Hauck and cartoonist Julien Cachemaille will discuss issues of science communication, in particular science comics.
